Facebook's Evil Plan to Sabotage Google Was Foiled

Facebook Vs. Google.... when are they not making the news???

This time it has to do with what Facebook did on Thursday, May 12th, 2011 : They hired a public relations firm- Burson-Marsteller to plant negative stories about Google, according to The Daily Beast.

Basically what happened was this:

Facebook hired Burson-Marsteller to write negative stories about Google to newspapers, urging them to investigate claims that Google was invading people’s privacy. Burson even offered to help an influential blogger write a Google-bashing op-ed, which it promised it could place in outlets like The Washington Post, Politico, and The Huffington Post.

However, the evil plot was foiled  when a blogger turned down Burson’s offer and went one step further to post emails that Burson had sent him. It got worse when USA Today broke a story accusing Burson of spreading a “whisper campaign” about Google “on behalf of an unnamed client.”

Facebook had their say on what they did:

"We wanted third parties to verify that people did not approve of the collection and use of information from their accounts on Facebook and other services for inclusion in Google Social Circles".

"Facebook did not approve of use or collection for this purpose."

So basically Facebook wanted to take Google down one step at a time and it backfired....  in a way, we find this funny...why would Facebook stoop so low to do this kind of thing?

Sure there are people who are upset at Google right now because 1. they out source  and no. 2. those who were once in Google News got kicked out for no reason and Google fails to tell the company why (it happened to Momsword.org and other websites)

We know Google is taking over the world but why would Facebook do something like this?!?!? They have the money. The popularity. They didn't need to write negative stories about Google. There already are enough out there on the web....
