It is Rosh Hashanah and a good book that I found for children is called "Engineer Ari and the Rosh Hashanah Ride.
This fun Children's book takes place in 1892. Ari was chosen to be the Engineer to drive the very first train from Jaffa to Jerusalem. His friends, Jessie and Nathaniel were sad because they were not chosen.
When Ari was chosen, he bragged how happy he was and didn't think about his friends feelings.
During his train ride, he makes stops and on the stops people give him treats to bring to the people of Jerusalem to help them celebrate Rosh Hashanah. Ari soon starts to think of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. He thought of his friends, Nathaniel and Jessie. The question is, what happens next? You will have to get this book to find out!
This is a great book for Rosh Hashanah! And if you are not Jewish, then this is a good book to teach people about the holiday.
