Turn Off Your Computer And Read A Book!

As I write articles for Blythpost.com, I think about the fact people go on the internet to find the latest article about Rihanna, or Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan than reading a good book. Growing up, I will say I hated reading---unless it was the Babysitter Club series or books that had to do with vampires (loong before Twilight was written). But I grew up in the 80s and 90s (graduated from high school in 98'). I hated doing homework because I rather look at the hottest guy in my class. But that was then. I grew up. We have the internet, we can download songs, movies..and read crap ..uhhh I mean things online.. especially if you are bored..want to know something random? google it.
It is sad bookstores are closing because people are not buying books anymore. Why not? When they read about the latest news or gossip on the internet. A book? What is that? When I get books from publishing companies to read and review, I am happy to do so because now-a-days, pick up a good book and read it than know what fashion Kate Middleton is wearing. In fact I have what I call quiet time in the house and that is when the t.v. is turned off and we shut off the computer....and then we read or do a craft. I think as a human,we are going away from actually words on a paper and going to words on the computer. And it is sad because curling up to a good book is a good thing!
So I was thinking today, when will books stop being written? When will people only use the internet? I hope there never comes a day for people to stop writing books..because the thing with books, you can get away from what is going on in your life for a moment and enter book fantasy land. And trust me, there are days that I really like that!
